Jackson schreibt, wieder zurück in Bulongwa, nachdem er aus dem Gefängnis entlassen wurde:
Dear All,
It is my sincere hope that you are doing well, the tension now is a bit down and our adrenaline in the blood is normal if not then the gage should be approaching to normal.
I am trying to organize myself and settle as fast as possible. I have arrived yesterday from Mbeya with a truck that was coming to pick Timber for I could not catch normal public transport. We were told to seat down so that we should not be seen from outside by the police traffic who were on patrol on the side of the road somewhere near Uyole.
Some people are saying this is common in Africa, even the issues of corruption and fraud are said to be common as if it is unchanging culture to attach to us Africans and this is the view of the majority in our country, and this belief is even worshiped by many even professional lawyers.
If I would have not witnessed another African state which have zero Torrance to corruption I would have agreed with what is being said, if I would have not experienced fully freedom, democracy and human rights observed to an extend that women are respected and treated with all dignity in another African state I would have agreed with this concept.
I have stayed in Botswana; a country I would suggest should be the model in civilization in Sub Saharan Africa. Even at Dala Dala stop you will never dare to go in before the first one to arrive has gone in, if you try to do that every body at the spot will shout at you. It is like a paradise. And I will not talk about Europe I know nothing about that. They have always defended themselves by saying; People like Vicky to have been spoiled by European because they have stayed to long in Europe, I have never studied or stayed in Europe, I have only visited Canada for three weeks only last two months. So what I believe I am sure can be practiced in our country and it is being practiced by other fellow Africans.
In Botswana I witnessed one European who was declared a Prohibited Immigrants by the state, and the statement was made by the head of the country because he talked publicly a published critics on the government (He spoiled the name of the country of course). The people of this country appealed to the government through the court of law and managed to make him stay. Their government accepted that and never questioned, as it was for the interest of the people and therefore the interest of the nation.
Are our leaders always observing what s for the interest of the country? Interest of the people, I think to them this mean the interest of their pocket. Kikwete and Lowassa are trying to do a good job to clean this country, but alone they will never succeed they need a big support from us at the ground, the opposition forces are too big, will be successively real.
It is our country we have to have opinion for the betterment of all of us and not to impress our leaders. The other time the Botswana government has decided to take all the bushmen out of the declared national reserve area in the Kalahari desert, these people has refused from going out of the area they took their government to court. I don’t mean that all the time the citizen should be questioning the decision of their government what I mean here is the citizen should be experiencing freedom in expressing their opinions and their ideas should be respected.
Now we are talking of money invested by the donors and government on HIV AIDS. When questioned the official, they are saying these are top secret government documents; we have to ask for permission from the prime minister to have an access on the documents. They are scared if the donors get to know how these monies have been spent will withdraw their assistance, yes me too I am afraid, but what is the meaning if they will keep on pumping the money in and the cash ends in he pocket of few, what will be the benefit? My opinion if I would be one of he decision makers or the implementers of the laws in the country I would have taken tough action against these few culprit and clean the whole mess in the system and afterwards we will need not to fear the donors to withdraw their assistance as everything will be open and accountable.
It is not my custom to write such long mails; it is only when I am very touched and disturbed mentally.
I hope there are some people who are determined to see Tanzania 100% justices, accountability, transparency and Zero tolerance to fraud corruption, and mismanagement. We have to forget this term misappropriated/ miss allocated.
The money for HIV and AIDS if well spend will serve the life of many, when we are not taking this serious it means we are burying people alive.
I would not to be one of the people who have let others die while there was a chance of serving there life. I have already lost a big number of relative from the pandemic I don’t want to count another one more on the list.
Brothers the war is more than what it was expected.
We have to remain strong and united.
Jackson
